1. Theology on Tap is back – Season Two
EASTER? There once was a magical wizard who could rise from the dead. His name was Jesus. And he came back as a bunny so that he could hide coloured eggs and give candy to children. Or ... maybe not.
Join in at Theology on Tap. A few ministers from around Vienna are eager to address all your questions, misconceptions, and confusion about the most sacred of Christian holidays: Easter. Grab a drink. Ask your questions. Watch some clergy sweat.
Wednesday, March 9, 6:30pM (6:30pm for food and drink, open questions starting at 7pm). Café Museum | Operngasse 7 | 1010 Wien Karlsplatz (u1/u2/u4) Clergy taking your Questions: Rev. Maria Scharffenberg (Swedish Lutheran Church) Rev. Mike Waltner (Christ Church) Rev. Dr. Robert S. Kinney (Christ Church) Hosted by Christ Church | christchurchvienna.org
2. Liberation Theology
What it is, Where it came from, Where it is today.
Speaker - Pastor Jeremy Meeks Hope Community Church in Nashville, Tennessee
Pastor Meeks will explore the historical roots of Liberation Theology (with Latin America as a test case), some of its key themes, and the many offshoots of Liberation Theology present today. The goal is to understand what gave rise to this theological movement, what distinguishes Liberation Theology from other flavours of theology, and how people from all traditions might benefit from the study of Liberation Theology.
Monday 13 March, 7pm, Christ Church, Church Centre
